DIVERSITY & INCLUSION CORPORATE & PUBLIC SPEAKER.

CUSTOMIZED DIVERSITY PROGRAMS.

The Program

My LGBTQIdoc Between the Shades has found a new life beyond TV and digital in corporate America as I have been doing fireside chats, panel discussion and virtual screenings with different types of companies.  The Washington Alliance even rented a 500 seat theatre and filmed our panel discussion to be used throughout the state. Comcast did something similar in their own space and is currently streaming internally and for all NBC employees.

Basically, each company chooses 2 (12 -15 minute) clips I created from various topics covered in the film and we create panels and have much needed diversity discussions.  As a next step I send them a link to the clips to view and we discuss.

This has been particularly effective in the healthcare sector, Corporations have done virtual and live events where we discuss being your authentic self as well as acceptance, understanding and whichever clips/topics they choose. Some companies choose to fill the rest of the panel internally and others ask me to fill it for them. These talks can be as large and as small and adjusted as budget permits.

Denise Giambalvo, Director of Purchaser Strategies at Washington Health Alliance

Jill wore many hats when we contracted for the right to show her film. She was an excellent creative collaborator as we worked to design a program to address the behavioral health needs of the LGBTQ+ community. Jill also participated in a panel discussion and provided her directorial services for the final edited recording of the event. Her talents are limitless and she is delightful to work with. Jill manages just the right mix of humor & compassion to put people at ease while directing the production.I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with her again.

Elaine Rocha, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Investment Officer, AIG

Jill joined us for a panel discussion at AIG to present and discuss her film, Between the Shades. This event was a part of our NY Pride celebrations in June and it was well attended and well received. The snapshots of the film Jill selected to share were spot on in that they prompted excellent dialogue among the panelists. Following the event I had many colleagues provide me with such great feedback including parents of LGBTQ+ youth who attended the event to continue to navigate their own questions while being supportive of their children. I highly recommend working with Jill - she is incredibly talented and has a remarkable way of facilitating and engaging in conversations that may be sensitive in nature - she meets and embraces people where they are on their journey. Awesome experience!!!

Claire Stachura, Manager, XGIE Program Delivery at Comcast

We were excited to collaborate with Jill for National Coming Out Day to help bring an important conversation to the surface for our employees- around authenticity in and outside of the workplace. Jill was beyond helpful in coordinating many moving parts of this event in a very condensed timeframe. With less than a month of time to plan this event, Jill exceeded expectations in pulling together an amazing panel of 4 individuals, curated questions for the panel based off related content in the clips of her film “Between the Shades” that we aired for our employee audience (enterprise-wide, both virtual and in-person), and coordinated several pre/post production syncs to ensure all parties were engaged and satisfied with the final product. It was an unforgettable experience to lead this unique and inspiring event for our employees-it wouldn’t have been possible without Jill’s talent, guidance, and creativity. Here’s to hoping for future opportunities that our paths cross again!

We were lucky to connect with Jill when she helped us strengthen our message with her beautiful film and creative direction of a project. Her storytelling style is to amplify the voices of others. I watched her very quickly make safe spaces for multiple people with varying perspectives, to not just encourage them to share their stories, but giving them the room to do so on their terms and in their way. The amount of introspection this offered her interview subjects transferred immediately to the audience as profoundly authentic. In this gracious way, Jill effortlessly makes room for others, celebrates them and inspires others to do the same. It was a joy to watch her work and to work with her.
